This is an incredible, rare Maragesha arabica from Luis Anibal Calderon and his Villa Betulia farm in Acevedo, Huila. The “EF2” natural process was pioneered by Felipe Arcila at Cofinet’s La Pradera farm and involves a 24 hour aerobic fermentation of the coffee cherries followed by 50 hours anaerobic, before sun-drying on raised beds.
Maragesha is gaining a lot of hype as a natural cross between two fantastic arabica varietals – Gesha and Maragogype. We also have a washed Maragesha from Wilder Lasso on the way! Luis Anibal first discovered this hybrid on Villa Betulia in 2017 and he’s renowned for having a range of exotic, beautifully tasting coffees on his farm.
