This exceptional coffee from Ashenafi Argaw, and his Ardent Export operation, is sourced and processed from ripe cherries selected in and around Idido village, in the Yirgacheffe region. The clean, ripe and sugar-rich cherries undergo an anaerobic fermentation, before being carefully sun-dried on raised beds– expect floral aromatics and juicy, fruit-filled flavours.

Ian visited Ardent in late 2022 in both their Addis Ababa offices and café, and then out to their brand new ShantaGolba washing station and processing facility (and adjacent Children’s Centre) in Bensa. We also annually sponsor and support the Ardent Children’s Centres (currently established in Sidama and Yirgacheffe) which house and support orphaned children in these coffee regions.
