Additional Product Information

This course gets you up and running with all the key skills you need to operate your espresso machine, from setting your grinder for perfect espresso extraction, foaming and texturing your milk for the full range of café drinks, through to care and maintenance.

It is the first step on the SCA Barista Skills programme, the world's only internationally recognised and externally vetted coffee skills qualification. The day is designed to be hands on to ensure you are confident using the skills you pick up.

Please note that from February 2023 our SCA Foundation course fees will go up from £160 to £260 in order to reflect changes in the way the SCA bill their ASTs (Accredited Specialty Trainers). However, this new enhanced fee will include automatic entry to the previously optional online written exam. This will also affect the way we bill wholesale customers because we are now unable to offer free access to the SCA programme. However, our own in-house Modular Courses are unaffected so if you still want to access free training you can continue to book these instead using the usual method.

Feel free to contact our Head of Training Tom Wilkinson on tom@darkwoodscoffee.co.uk if you have any questions!
