This exceptional coffee from Ashenafi Argaw, and his Ardent Export operation, is sourced and processed from ripe cherries selected in and around Dembi, in the Sidama region. The clean, ripe and sugar-rich cherries undergo an anaerobic fermentation, before being carefully sun-dried on raised beds– expect floral aromatics and juicy, fruit-filled flavours.

Ian visited Ardent in late 2022 in both their Addis Ababa offices and café, and then out to their brand new Shanta Golba washing station and processing facility (and adjacent Children’s Centre) in Bensa. We annually sponsor the Ardent Children’s Centres (in Sidama and Yirgacheffe) which house and support orphaned children in these coffee regions
