About Arboretum
Our lightest espresso, Arboretum is a seasonal celebration of nature and origin. It changes regularly to reflect the freshest and most complex coffees that we can find. Sweet and vibrant in milk, bright and juicy when drunk black and always bursting with red fruit flavours. Arboretum is a coffee for the curious and the bold.
We tend to favour natural processed coffees for the blend (where the whole fruit is dried before the beans are separated), as they add sweetness and body to balance the brighter fruit forward and slightly funky flavours.
How to brew
Arboretum was designed as an espresso but there is no reason why it won’t suit a fruity filter or cafetiere. As a lighter espresso, we would probably start with a reasonably high dose (18g, but whatever suits your machine best), and work on a 1:2.5 ratio, making a balanced espresso weighing about 45g. Shoot it shorter if you prefer a richer body and more intense acidity. For filter, we recommend using 60g per litre of water. It’s the industry standard for a reason, delivering a rich balanced flavour with most coffees.
Tasting notes
Like a crisp autumn day. Long shadows lead to a hedgerow heavy with ripe fruit, oozing sweetness. Bright and jammy.
