About Under Milk Wood
Not so much stuck between extremes as offering the best of both, Under Milk Wood was not only the first blend we created but also represents the concept behind Dark Woods. A medium roast delivers familiar and crowd-pleasing caramel sweetness but adventurous sourcing takes it beyond the perceived limits of this style.
All coffee drinkers should find something to enjoy here so if you're new to our range this is the perfect place to start. Under Milk Wood is a multiple Great Taste Award winner and received a coveted Golden Fork in 2016 for Best Northern Product.
How to brew
Under Milk Wood was designed as an espresso but there is no reason why it won’t suit filter or cafetiere brewing. As an mid roast espresso, we would probably start with a 17g dose (but whatever suits your machine best), and work on a 1:2.5 ratio, making a balanced espresso weighing about 42g. For filter, we recommend using 60g per litre of water. It’s the industry standard for a reason, delivering a balanced flavour with most coffees.
